Osbeck, Pehr (b. Hålanda, Sweden, 1723; d. Halland, Sweden, 1805). Natural history. Swedish clergyman, explorer and naturalist. Studyed the natural history of the Canton region of China, where he voyaged as chaplain on ships of the Swedish East India Company from 1750 to 1752. He returned to Sweden with a large collection of plants. Chaplain.
